What you will do

  • Design and maintain the financial system architecture including position lifecycles, accounting layers, and settlement workflows.
  • Own the backend services stack, including TypeScript APIs, Rust-based event indexers, and React-based institutional dashboards.
  • Develop smart contract logic for lending and staking mechanisms using functional programming principles.
  • Evaluate current codebase for refactoring vs. rebuilding and establish engineering best practices.
  • Recruit and mentor an internal engineering team while transitioning away from external contractors.
  • Partner with the founder to define the technical roadmap and product priorities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience.
  • 2–4 years in a technical leadership, architect, or staff engineer capacity.
  • Experience working in fintech, trading systems, or correctness-critical environments.
  • Strong background in functional programming languages like Haskell, Scala, or OCaml.
  • Hands-on proficiency with TypeScript backend frameworks and Rust.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or building small, high-impact engineering teams.
