What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team with a focus on ownership and accountability.
- Design and evolve scalable microservices and APIs integrated with data pipelines.
- Establish engineering best practices for testing, observability, and performance.
- Partner with Architecture and Data Platform teams to define system foundations and long-term strategy.
- Identify and mitigate risks regarding system dependencies, scalability, and production readiness.
- Represent the engineering team and initiatives to senior business and product stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in technical leadership and people management.
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring framework.
- Proven experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
- Extensive experience with public cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating AI/ML components such as model inference services.
- Familiarity with cloud-native services, GoLang, or Cloud code.
- Background in Expense Management or the Travel industry.
- Knowledge of responsible AI governance and compliance practices.
