What you will do
- Define and champion the materials and textures vision including PBR standards and visual references
- Ensure surface consistency and visual fidelity across all lighting scenarios
- Create high quality PBR materials and textures using Substance 3D Designer, Painter, scans, and photogrammetry
- Build and maintain optimized material systems including variants, wear, blending, and decals
- Collaborate with Technical Art and Rendering to optimize shaders, memory budgets, streaming, and GPU cost
- Mentor and support the team with clear feedback and best practices
Requirements
- Must be located in Quebec City, Montreal, or Montreuil for office-based work
- Strong expertise in game art focusing on materials and textures for large scale projects
- Advanced skills with Substance 3D Designer, Painter, Photoshop, ZBrush, and scan-based workflows
- Experience with proprietary engines, ideally Anvil or equivalent
- Knowledge of real time shading, GPU and memory optimization, and complex material setups
- Proven collaboration, communication, and technical leadership skills
