What you will do
- Build GiveDirectly’s understanding of the Climate Finance landscape and entry points for direct cash transfers.
- Position large lump sum cash transfers credibly in relevant climate policy spaces, focusing on adaptation/resilience.
- Support GiveDirectly’s ongoing engagement and external representation through strategic advisory support.
- Develop an evidence-backed framework for integrating direct cash transfers into financing mechanisms for climate adaptation and conservation.
- Create a clear Go / No-Go framework and engagement strategy for prioritized climate finance vehicles.
- Develop a Uganda-specific climate adaptation engagement strategy.
Requirements
- Strength and credibility of climate finance expertise.
- Depth of understanding of global climate funds and adaptation architecture.
- Seniority and track record of proposed team.
- Experience delivering results for innovative organizations such as GiveDirectly.
- Experience with climate adaptation in East Africa, ideally Uganda specifically.
