What you will do

  • Build GiveDirectly’s understanding of the Climate Finance landscape and entry points for direct cash transfers.
  • Position large lump sum cash transfers credibly in relevant climate policy spaces, focusing on adaptation/resilience.
  • Support GiveDirectly’s ongoing engagement and external representation through strategic advisory support.
  • Develop an evidence-backed framework for integrating direct cash transfers into financing mechanisms for climate adaptation and conservation.
  • Create a clear Go / No-Go framework and engagement strategy for prioritized climate finance vehicles.
  • Develop a Uganda-specific climate adaptation engagement strategy.

Requirements

  • Strength and credibility of climate finance expertise.
  • Depth of understanding of global climate funds and adaptation architecture.
  • Seniority and track record of proposed team.
  • Experience delivering results for innovative organizations such as GiveDirectly.
  • Experience with climate adaptation in East Africa, ideally Uganda specifically.
