What you will do

  • Manage and mentor a team of technical artists, providing coaching and strategic direction.
  • Partner with Art Leadership, Environment Art, and Lighting to define and achieve visual targets.
  • Own artist-facing interfaces and rendering pipeline tools, ensuring they are intuitive and well-documented.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate performance implications and balance visual fidelity with scalability.
  • Develop and optimize asset pipelines to ensure seamless integration of lighting and rendering workflows.
  • Communicate technical risks, constraints, and opportunities to stakeholders to guide sustainable decision-making.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in games or a related industry.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine lighting, rendering, and scripting systems.
  • Proficiency in standard industry content creation tools such as Maya, 3DS Max, or Houdini.
  • Deep understanding of real-time rendering principles, lighting models, and optimization strategies.
  • Proven track record of partnering with engineers to drive engine-level changes.
  • Strong ability to translate creative requirements into production-ready technical processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale AAA game production.
  • Expertise in modern Unreal Engine features like Lumen, Nanite, and PCG.
