Director of Development (Software): Leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing software development team to deliver mission-critical Invoicing products and services with an accent on technical guidance, alignment with product teams, and impediment removal. Location: For this role, you should be located in Canada, and able to work within EST/EDT hours. We offer a choice of fully remote, partially remote or fully office-based work environments (in cities with local offices).

What you will do

  • Guide, motivate, and grow a team of software developers in the Invoicing domain.
  • Collaborate with Product teams and engineering leadership to align on priorities and roadmaps.
  • Identify and remove impediments and risks to delivery.
  • Plan and further the professional growth of team members, including 1-1s and performance reviews.
  • Report on team progress and status to engineering leadership.
  • Find and hire top talent and provide technical and process guidance.

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team through successful software product delivery.
  • Experience delivering microservice-driven, scalable, cloud-based applications.
  • Professional experience in agile development and continuous delivery.
  • Fluency in English as a working language is required.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and drive individuals and teams.
  • Strong passion for continuous learning, improvement, and a quality-driven mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Invoicing, Ledger, Account Receivable, and/or E-commerce domains.
  • Experience in building scalable SaaS solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud services (GCP in particular).
  • Experience in full-stack web application development, test automation, and/or DevOps engineering.
