What you will do

  • Build, customize, and maintain high-performance WordPress websites.
  • Develop and optimize WooCommerce shopping carts.
  • Troubleshoot plugin/theme conflicts and site issues.
  • Implement technical SEO best practices.
  • Manage hosting, migrations, staging environments, and site speed optimization.
  • Ensure sites are secure, fast, and conversion-focused.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven experience in WordPress development, with a strong, specific focus on WooCommerce.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Deep understanding of WordPress core, custom post types, custom taxonomies, and custom theme/plugin development or modification.
  • Hands-on experience with site speed optimization (Core Web Vitals, caching solutions like WP Rocket/Redis) and implementing WP security best practices.
  • Comfort managing hosting environments (e.g., WP Engine, Kinsta, cPanel), handling complex server migrations, and managing staging/production workflows.
  • Solid grasp of technical SEO principles and how site architecture and code impact search engine rankings.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems is highly preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex theme and plugin conflicts.
  • Ability to communicate technical constraints and solutions clearly to non-technical team members or clients.
