What you will do

  • Maintain and evolve the Native UI Platform built with Jetpack Compose, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and consistency for product teams.
  • Elevate the Android Developer Experience by optimizing CI/CD pipelines, expanding test automation, and hardening automated release processes.
  • Maintain a high-performance networking stack for offline-first synchronization, intelligent caching, and secure data transit.
  • Own the implementation of low-level protocols (BLE, NFC, custom Wi-Fi) for secure and reliable physical hardware integration.
  • Optimize the type-safe communication layer between dynamic web components and native device sensors, secure enclaves, and core system logic.
  • Act as a technical consultant to other product teams, evaluating new patterns like Server-Driven UI for balancing native performance with engineering velocity.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional Android development with deep mastery of Kotlin and the Android SDK.
  • Strong experience with mobile CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise) and a "test-first" mentality.
  • Deep understanding of the networking stack (OkHttp, Retrofit, Protobuf) and experience handling unreliable network conditions at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with Bluetooth (BLE), NFC, or the nuances of Android background execution limits.
  • Expert proficiency in Jetpack Compose and experience scaling shared UI libraries across multiple teams.
  • Experience managing the complexity of the Google Play Store release cycle for apps with high deployment frequency.
