National Data Processing Expert (Agricultural Statistics): Supporting the preparatory phase of the Agricultural Census in Iraq by preparing and establishing a work plan for data processing, including CAPI app, validation rules, and tabulation. Focus on strengthening national statistical capacity, designing cost-effective data processing tools, and delivering hands-on training for census implementation.

Location: Onsite in Baghdad, Iraq. Must be a national of Iraq or a resident with a valid work permit.

What you will do

  • Support the preparation and establishment of a work plan for the project's data processing component (CAPI app, validation rules, data processing and tabulation).
  • Assess data processing capacities and facilities in the CSGIS to prepare a programme for upgrading knowledge and skills.
  • Prepare cost-effective data processing tools (CAPI app, data validation and cleaning, tabulation programmes) using CAPI methodology.
  • Support the organisation of Training of Trainers (ToT) on CAPI App, data processing, tabulation, and quality control.
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and conducting census instruments testing.
  • Prepare End of Mission Reports and an Assignment Report.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in data processing with specialization in agricultural statistics.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in agricultural census and surveys and their organization in middle-income countries.
  • Working knowledge of English and Arabic.
  • Must be a national of Iraq or resident of the country with a valid work permit.
