Unreal Simulation Engineer (Robotics): Building cutting-edge digital twins and simulation tools for subsea robotics systems with an accent on reducing the sim-to-real gap using physics and rendering technologies. Location: Hybrid remote, must be based in or able to commute to Bristol, UK (2-3 days per week)

What you will do

  • Design and optimize high-quality simulation tools and digital twins within Unreal Engine.
  • Write scalable, efficient code using Modern C++ and Python while maintaining rigorous CI/CD standards.
  • Drive the development roadmap from initial design through to deployment and testing.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams in Robotics and Machine Learning.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure consistent framework application across projects.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from Bristol, UK
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine C++ systems (plugins, multi-threading, physics)
  • Strong expertise in C++ (17+) and Python
  • Experience with Docker and containerization technologies
  • Solid understanding of 3D mathematics and software architecture principles
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers

Nice to have

  • Background in robotics, sensors, actuators, and physics simulation
  • Experience with NVidia Isaac, Gazebo, or real-time simulation systems
  • Familiarity with Linux and cloud-scale deployment
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools like Blender or Maya
  • Knowledge of Software in the Loop (SITL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing
