What you will do

  • Define and lead DevOps strategy and roadmap while remaining hands-on in engineering and solution design
  • Promote a culture of enablement for teams to independently own and deliver features
  • Lead design and evolution of CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and monitoring on Kubernetes and Istio platforms
  • Define platform guardrails and standards to enhance security and delivery speed
  • Build collaborative relationships and coach teams on build and release standards
  • Mentor and develop engineers, evaluate new technologies, and prototype new capabilities

Requirements

  • Location: Must work hybrid with presence in Manchester office 40% of the time
  • Strong hands-on engineering and strategic leadership experience in DevOps
  • Practical experience with GCP and OCP cloud platforms
  • Deep knowledge of DevOps tools including GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, Terraform, Python, and monitoring tools
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
  • Ability to manage platform-wide priorities and stakeholders effectively

Nice to have

  • Software engineering experience with microservices and web applications
  • Automated testing and quality engineering skills
  • Service operations experience including monitoring, alerting, and SLI/SLOs
  • Knowledge of databases, schema management, streaming, messaging, and networking fundamentals
