What you will do

  • Manage 4-7 software engineers, providing coaching and accountability.
  • Own the roadmap and delivery of developer tooling and AI-assisted workflows for multiple teams.
  • Define and ship agentic AI experiences that automate common Unreal workflows for developers.
  • Partner with leadership to improve team health and effectiveness.
  • Define and track metrics for developer experience and productivity, using feedback to iterate on tools and agents.
  • Build healthy relationships with other engineering teams to foster cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years professional experience as a software engineer in a game development team.
  • 3+ years as an Engineering Manager leading engineers.
  • Experience as a technical lead for a tooling, platform, or AI-backed product area.
  • Experience recruiting candidates and growing an engineering team.
  • Experience participating in technical discussions such as technical design reviews and code reviews.

Nice to have

  • Experience with game engines (ex. Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Experience shipping software to customers.
  • Experience with automation.
