What you will do

  • Manage and coordinate release cycles for over 20 interdependent R packages.
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and backward compatibility in production environments.
  • Resolve bugs, manage security updates, and provide direct technical support to users.
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and documentation standards.
  • Refactor legacy systems to reduce technical debt and improve overall architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with backend, infrastructure, and data engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing production-grade R packages.
  • Advanced proficiency in the S4 object system and method dispatch.
  • In-depth experience with the Bioconductor ecosystem and its release cycles.
  • Proficiency with essential R development tools including testthat, roxygen2, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience with REST APIs and OAuth2/JWT authentication protocols.
  • Must be available for 4–6 hours of daily overlap with PST timezone.

Nice to have

  • Experience with performance optimization using C++ and Rcpp.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage integration and data formats like HDF5, CSV, or JSON.
  • Background in bioinformatics or genomics.
  • Active contribution history to open-source R projects.
