What you will do
- Manage and coordinate release cycles for over 20 interdependent R packages.
- Ensure system stability, performance, and backward compatibility in production environments.
- Resolve bugs, manage security updates, and provide direct technical support to users.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and documentation standards.
- Refactor legacy systems to reduce technical debt and improve overall architecture.
- Collaborate closely with backend, infrastructure, and data engineering teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience developing production-grade R packages.
- Advanced proficiency in the S4 object system and method dispatch.
- In-depth experience with the Bioconductor ecosystem and its release cycles.
- Proficiency with essential R development tools including testthat, roxygen2, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience with REST APIs and OAuth2/JWT authentication protocols.
- Must be available for 4–6 hours of daily overlap with PST timezone.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance optimization using C++ and Rcpp.
- Familiarity with cloud storage integration and data formats like HDF5, CSV, or JSON.
