Focus on real-time, continuous, and predictive risk monitoring powered by AI and automation, harnessing technologies such as Generative AI and Agentic AI to dynamically identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
Location: Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds, Newport. Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

What you will do
- Lead the Data Risk Innovation function, setting priorities and creating a strong reputation for innovation.
- Apply deep knowledge of AI, data, and automation to redefine policies, controls, and risk processes, enabling real-time and predictive risk management.
- Innovate approaches to risk management by integrating risk guardrails within existing workflows rather than as standalone tasks.
- Collaborate with peers within the Risk function and across business units to drive adoption of new risk management strategies.
- Ensure close alignment to the Group’s Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and applicable regulatory standards.
- Own the Group’s Data, Privacy, and Retention policies.
Requirements
- 10+ years leading teams or functions in a complex organisation.
- 5+ years in a risk or first line control function within Financial Services.
- 5+ years of experience using AI, analytics or other quantitative methods to drive innovation or transform processes.
- 5+ years of Strategic Decision Making, showing ability to make timely decisions, assimilate complex information, and provide relevant recommendations.
- Strong knowledge and expertise on non-financial risk.
- Demonstrable ability to build partnerships, and provide challenge and advice.
Nice to have
- Experience as a data scientist or software engineer.
- Experience within operational risk function within financial services.
- Data privacy qualification e.g. CIPP/E
