What you will do

  • Develop and enhance Python-based financial models for pension liabilities, fixed income, and portfolio risk.
  • Optimize quantitative tools and processes for improved performance, efficiency, and code quality.
  • Support model governance processes and ensure compliance with internal technical standards and controls.
  • Lead the design and implementation of analytical use cases, advising on model selection and methodology.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for investment teams, assisting with troubleshooting and workflow enhancements.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to manage platform-related issues and ensure best-practice change management.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Python (minimum 2 years) or C++ programming.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
  • Knowledge of financial engineering, specifically stochastic calculus, derivatives pricing, and Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Familiarity with portfolio analytics and relative value assessment.
  • Ability to work in London on a hybrid basis.
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline with strong analytical capability.

Nice to have

  • Postgraduate qualification in financial engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with Excel integration (COM/xlwings) or Azure cloud deployment.
  • Familiarity with SQL or Snowflake.
  • Experience using risk analytics platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, State Street Alpha, or SimCorp.
