What you will do

  • Influence the roadmap and deliver new features for the Mimir Ingest sub-squad.
  • Build, operate, and maintain critical distributed systems at scale.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and availability of production services.
  • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and lead incident resolution.
  • Collaborate with global teammates on design documents, PR reviews, and automated release rollouts.
  • Contribute to the open-source Mimir project and other related observability tools.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Spain, Germany, Ireland, the UK, or Sweden.
  • Strong programming skills in Go, or proficiency in Python, C, C++, or Rust with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience delivering full-lifecycle projects within a team, from brainstorming to shipping.
  • Background in systems engineering or delivering software in cloud environments.
  • Experience with on-call responsibilities and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable software for distributed systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Kubernetes and queue systems like Kafka.
  • Operational experience with Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code.
  • Experience using LLMs to assist with coding tasks.
