What you will do
- Influence the roadmap and deliver new features for the Mimir Ingest sub-squad.
- Build, operate, and maintain critical distributed systems at scale.
- Own the reliability, performance, and availability of production services.
- Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and lead incident resolution.
- Collaborate with global teammates on design documents, PR reviews, and automated release rollouts.
- Contribute to the open-source Mimir project and other related observability tools.
Requirements
- Must be based in Spain, Germany, Ireland, the UK, or Sweden.
- Strong programming skills in Go, or proficiency in Python, C, C++, or Rust with a willingness to learn.
- Experience delivering full-lifecycle projects within a team, from brainstorming to shipping.
- Background in systems engineering or delivering software in cloud environments.
- Experience with on-call responsibilities and DevOps practices.
- Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable software for distributed systems.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Kubernetes and queue systems like Kafka.
- Operational experience with Grafana and Prometheus.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code.
- Experience using LLMs to assist with coding tasks.
