What you will do
- Research and advise on privacy developments and data protection laws impacting global technology companies.
- Develop policies, processes, and playbooks for global privacy and data protection compliance.
- Interact with engineers and product subject matter experts on legal privacy and infrastructure topics.
- Contribute to blogs, white papers, and marketing materials on Cloudflare’s privacy posture.
- Advise on privacy aspects of marketing strategy, including analysis under consumer protection laws.
- Support legal privacy counsel in coordinating Cloudflare’s response to privacy and infrastructure incidents.
Requirements
- Ability to commit to a minimum 12-week summer internship.
- Must be in the office 3-5 days a week in the Washington D.C. office.
- Basic understanding of major global and regional privacy laws, such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Familiarity with fundamental concepts like Privacy by Design, Data Minimization, and lawful bases for processing personal data.
- Ability to efficiently use legal databases and translate complex information to digestible language.
- Experience working in IT environments and applying legal requirements to technical systems and products.
