What you will do

  • Design and drive novel technology development projects in agreement with the MDL Group Leader.
  • Manage computational biologists working on Methods Development Lab projects.
  • Collaborate with Genomics Platform and Data Sciences Platform computational scientists to create analytic methods for new technologies.
  • Evaluate new -omic technologies for utility, impact, and fit with Genomics Platforms capabilities.
  • Actively participate in obtaining funding opportunities for technology development.
  • Publish novel methods in collaboration with Broad scientists and seek intellectual property protection for inventions.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Computational Biology or related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Must have deep computational biology experience.
  • Excellent programming skills, data analysis skills, and mastery of best software practices.
  • Skilled at supervising teams of researchers, providing scientific mentorship and direction.
  • Proficient in setting goals, priorities, and budgets to drive efficient project execution.
  • Strong individual contributor with the ability to quickly pivot and collaborate with key stakeholders.
