What you will do
- Scout, track, and evaluate independent and specialty films for theatrical distribution globally
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of acquisition opportunities targeting 12-18 titles per year
- Represent the company at major film festivals and markets worldwide
- Lead negotiations for acquisition deals collaborating with Legal, Business Affairs, and Finance teams
- Evaluate financial models and distribution strategies to inform acquisition decisions
- Collaborate with Distribution, Marketing, and Programming teams to optimize acquired titles' performance
Requirements
- Location: Must be able to work from New York City or London offices
- 8-12+ years of experience in film acquisitions with at least 4-6 years focused on acquisitions
- Proven track record of successful film acquisition deals and strong industry relationships
- Deep knowledge of independent film ecosystem, festival circuits, and distribution models
- Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen including P&L modeling and rights valuation
- Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for independent cinema and diverse voices
