What you will do

  • Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on in design and implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership in systems-level development using C, C++, and Rust.
  • Drive enhancements to Redis’ AI and Search capabilities, including vector search, hybrid retrieval, and semantic caching.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD workflows to support high-velocity, high-quality releases.
  • Set strong engineering standards around performance, reliability, testing, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in systems-level or database software development, including people leadership.
  • At least 3+ years managing teams building software in C, C++, or Rust.
  • Proven background working at a database company or on distributed data systems.
  • Deep understanding of systems design topics such as memory management, concurrency, performance optimization, and distributed consistency.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in distributed and global teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting AI infrastructure or platforms (search, retrieval, caching, or data layers).
  • Experience improving developer productivity using AI-assisted tooling or workflows.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, especially Redis, and their practical applications.
  • Experience leading or maintaining open-source projects, or driving OSS contributions.
