What you will do

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers distributed between Paris and France, supporting career growth through coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Translate organization-wide observability needs into clear technical strategies, well-prioritized roadmaps, and measurable OKRs.
  • Drive delivery of complex, cross-organization initiatives from problem framing through production deployment at Datadog scale.
  • Guide high-quality technical execution by reviewing designs and pull requests, and establishing engineering standards for reliability, observability, and security.
  • Strengthen operational excellence by improving SLOs, on-call practices, automation, and runbooks to reduce risk and improve reliability.
  • Reduce user friction and operational risk for Datadog’s internal platform usage by designing best practices and providing tooling for teams to use.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software or systems engineering, with experience operating or building large-scale distributed systems.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader with strong mentorship skills, including experience supporting performance, growth, and team execution.
  • Hands-on experience in SRE and observability (metrics, logs, traces, telemetry pipelines), including operating critical infrastructure or platforms at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional technical work and turn complex problems into clear action plans.
  • Strong operational background, including on-call participation and a track record of improving reliability through disciplined practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build alignment across technical and non-technical teams in English.
