Location: Hybrid (onsite three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from San Francisco, Seattle, or New York hub locations. Travel 2–3 times per year for company offsites.

What you will do

  • Define and evolve the technical vision for critical product and platform systems.
  • Architect scalable, reliable backend services that support high-volume workflows and transactions.
  • Design and improve systems related to search, matching, personalization, or other intelligent product capabilities.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to production.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the bar for technical quality, clarity, and execution across teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience (level-flexible for strong candidates).
  • Strong experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system design and architectural thinking.
  • Track record of delivering complex, ambiguous projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Product mindset with a deep care for user experience and business impact.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
