What you will do

  • Build advanced Maya rigs for characters, creatures, vehicles, and props.
  • Deliver animation-friendly rigs that meet artistic and technical standards, including clean skinning and deformation setups.
  • Develop and maintain rigging tools to support team workflows and ensure rigs are stable and compatible with downstream use.
  • Collaborate with animation, CFX, and modeling teams to meet rigging needs.
  • Maintain clean scene organization with hierarchies and naming conventions.
  • Troubleshoot rig and deformation issues during asset or shot work.

Requirements

  • Experience rigging in Maya using joints, constraints, and utility nodes.
  • Understanding of Matrix math and Maya architecture.
  • Understanding of anatomy, deformation, and facial rigging setups.
  • Proficiency in Python/Pyside for scripting and automation.
  • Solid communication and strong problem-solving skills.
  • 3-5 years of rigging experience in a VFX environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Git and GitLab or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Houdini-based CFX.
  • Experience with facial rigs.
  • Adaptability to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude.
