TL;DR

Principal Engineer (Hardware Validation): Owning and executing post-silicon validation for Marvell Ethernet Cu PHY and Alaska-C HSC Retimer PHY products with an accent on system-level and silicon-level test plan development, lab-based silicon bring-up, and high-speed signal validation. Focus on analyzing and debugging PHY protocol issues, leading technical discussions for resolution, and supporting customer design issues.

Location: Onsite in Irvine, CA. Must be eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Salary: $152,300 – $225,440 per annum

What you will do

  • Own Marvell Ethernet Cu PHY Validation in a post-silicon environment.
  • Develop system-level and silicon-level test plans for Ethernet PHY and HSC Retimer PHY products.
  • Perform lab-based silicon bring-up and unit test execution, focusing on 10BASE-T Physical and PCS layer.
  • Conduct high-speed signal validation and analysis using various test equipment.
  • Analyze and debug issues on PHY protocols (SERDES, Ethernet) and troubleshoot failing tests.
  • Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues with cross-functional teams and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 10-15 years of experience OR Master’s/PhD with 5-10 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed SERDES, equalization techniques, and Ethernet Networking protocols.
  • 5+ years of experience with High Speed IO testing, Analog AFE characterization, debugging, and validation.
  • Strong lab skills with hands-on experience in system bring-up, system testing, and debug.
  • In-depth working knowledge of test equipment for PAM4 SERDES and 10GBASE-T Cu PHY Ethernet AFE Analog characterization.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of Ethernet Networking interface and characterization.
  • Working knowledge of hardware board design; able to read board schematics and board layout.
  • Working experience with Python.
