What you will do
- Design and build Node.js APIs from scratch, owning the full development lifecycle.
- Analyze and migrate complex legacy .NET services to a modern Node.js architecture.
- Develop and maintain Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers and API gateways.
- Integrate AI tooling into the development workflow for code exploration and task automation.
- Define API standards, error handling patterns, and documentation best practices.
- Review code, mentor team members, and drive engineering culture improvements.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in or able to work from Stockholm, Sweden
- 5+ years of production experience with Node.js
- Strong expertise in designing and building REST APIs from scratch
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor)
- Strong background in BFF architecture and API gateway design
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and translate legacy .NET/C# logic
Nice to have
- Experience with agentic coding tools like Claude Code
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes
- Proficiency with Python, React, Next.js, or Angular
- Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven architectures
