What you will do

  • Assist customers in designing and conducting experiments using PacBio instruments and workflows
  • Provide timely technical and application support in response to customer inquiries
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Managers to identify business opportunities and support pre- and post-sales activities
  • Conduct scientific presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and key opinion leaders
  • Provide feedback to R&D, Product Marketing, and Sales teams to improve workflows and products

Requirements

  • Must reside within Northern California Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento)
  • PhD or Masters with 1-2 years experience, or B.S. with 4-6 years in related scientific discipline
  • Knowledge of DNA sequence analysis tools and workflows including sequence alignment, genome visualization, and epigenetics
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% within defined territory
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • 2+ years experience in field applications and pre-/post-sales customer support
  • Degree in Molecular Biology/Genetics
  • Experience supporting installation, training, and application of sequencing instruments and assays
  • Experience in extraction, library preparation, and sequencing
  • Experience conducting scientific presentations for pre- and post-sales activities
