What you will do

  • Define and execute the long-term ML vision and strategy for Trust engineering.
  • Lead and mentor ML and software engineers on complex architectural and modeling challenges.
  • Drive large-scale, multi-team ML initiatives influencing product and platform roadmaps.
  • Develop and operate cutting-edge ML models and pipelines for fraud detection and risk evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
  • Work on advanced topics such as anomaly detection, multimodality, and Agentic AI.

Requirements

  • Must have 12+ years of industry experience in applied Machine Learning.
  • 2-3+ years experience with LLMs and Agentic AI technologies.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in CS, ML, or related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Scala, Python, Java, C++ or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of ML best practices, algorithms, and domains including NLP, computer vision, and anomaly detection.
  • Must reside in a US state where Airbnb has a registered entity.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Trust and Risk domain.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and production ML infrastructure.
  • Experience with test-driven development and A/B testing.
