TL;DR

Junior Technical Audio Designer (Game Development): Migrating and optimizing game audio data for a AAA remaster/port project in Unreal Engine 5 with an accent on ensuring consistency across multiple platforms and utilizing unique engine features. Focus on overseeing migration tools, data conversion, and solving edge cases using Blueprints.

Location: Based out of our brand new, state of the art studio at Lakeside North Harbour in Portsmouth, England, United Kingdom. This is a UK-based 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

What you will do

  • Oversee the migration of existing audio data to Unreal Engine 5.
  • Ensure the mix and presentation of the game remains consistent with the original.
  • Utilise Unreal Engine's unique features and find opportunities to improve the original title's audio.
  • Deliver a modern, faithful, and performant audio migration for multiple platforms.
  • Oversee programmers assigned to migration tooling and ensure converted data quality.
  • Solve edge cases, potentially writing or modifying Blueprints.

Requirements

  • Experience with audio for games and creating interactive experiences.
  • Experience with Wwise.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Competency in optimisation and mixing.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Strong sound design skills that could supplement existing audio.
  • C++ skills to assist with programming work.
