TL;DR

Senior Analyst, Application Development & Energy Control Systems (Energy): Helps design, construct, and ensure reliable performance for the AES Clean Energy Generation Management, SCADA and other assorted technology systems with an accent on hardware, software, Generation operations in various RTOs (PJM, ERCOT and MISO markets). Focus on configuring, installing, operating, and maintaining critical systems, ensuring reliable operation of Generation.

Location: Must live in the Dayton, Ohio area. The role requires coming to the office 5-days/week. Relocation is available.

What you will do

  • Configure, install, operate, and maintain critical systems, ensuring reliable operation of Generation.
  • Provide Level-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Interact with co-workers, vendors, and the public to obtain and disseminate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Create diagrams and documentation for as-is and to-be OT configurations.
  • Help evaluate new products and services from vendors to determine applicability to hardware, software, networks and other systems.
  • Participate as technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related experience
  • Experience with designing and implementation of real-time Generation control systems.
  • Good technical understanding of hardware, software and overall technology.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • 0 to 5 years of operational technology experience.
  • Understanding of Automatic Generation Control (AGC)

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Monarch Scada software.
  • Familiarity with programming language C like scripting.
  • Familiarity with ETAPro.
