What you will do

  • Develop and enhance financial models using Python for fixed income, pension liabilities, and risk analytics.
  • Improve existing modeling tools and processes to increase calculation efficiency and code quality.
  • Support various investment teams with day-to-day tool usage and troubleshooting.
  • Take ownership of platform issues and escalate to relevant vendor or internal teams.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical problems and ensure model accuracy.
  • Ensure system changes comply with IT change management and best practices.

Requirements

  • Professional Python development experience including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
  • Strong programming skills with knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Understanding of financial engineering concepts such as no-arbitrage principles and derivative pricing.
  • Familiarity with portfolio analytics and risk assessment.
  • Experience interfacing Python with Excel or working with SQL and cloud-based platforms.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment based in London.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Experience with portfolio risk platforms like BlackRock Aladdin, State Street Alpha, or SimCorp.
  • Knowledge of VBA.
