What you will do
- Develop and enhance financial models using Python for fixed income, pension liabilities, and risk analytics.
- Improve existing modeling tools and processes to increase calculation efficiency and code quality.
- Support various investment teams with day-to-day tool usage and troubleshooting.
- Take ownership of platform issues and escalate to relevant vendor or internal teams.
- Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical problems and ensure model accuracy.
- Ensure system changes comply with IT change management and best practices.
Requirements
- Professional Python development experience including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
- Strong programming skills with knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Understanding of financial engineering concepts such as no-arbitrage principles and derivative pricing.
- Familiarity with portfolio analytics and risk assessment.
- Experience interfacing Python with Excel or working with SQL and cloud-based platforms.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment based in London.
Nice to have
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Experience with portfolio risk platforms like BlackRock Aladdin, State Street Alpha, or SimCorp.
- Knowledge of VBA.
