What you will do

  • Drive statewide growth by identifying opportunities within large Virginia agencies such as VSP, VADOC, VDEM, and VAOG.
  • Serve as the primary face of the organization to state and local officials, influencers, and third-party lobbyists.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior officials to convert them into concrete deployments.
  • Map state priorities—including public safety, emergency management, and data modernization—to company products.
  • Develop go-to-market plans, legislative briefings, and proposals to capture wins and demonstrate operational value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Growth, Product, and Communications teams to align resources.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in government partnerships, public-sector business development, or state-level strategy within Virginia.
  • Proven ability to translate legislative and policy developments into commercial opportunities.
  • Strong existing relationships or deep familiarity with Virginia state agencies and their decision-making processes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written executive communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and lawmakers.
