What you will do

  • Collaborate closely with Assessment and Operations and digital assessment teams.
  • Manage the well-being, support, performance, development, and day-to-day line management of a team of Team Leaders and Analysts providing specialized Tier 2 support.
  • Represent Assessment and Operations teams on the digital assessment project, ensuring operational impact is considered.
  • Manage and resolve issues impacting operational workflow/procedures, identifying mitigation strategies and solutions.
  • Coordinate the integration of digital assessment workstreams into existing operations, maintaining business continuity.
  • Manage the successful implementation of digital assessment standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identify process improvements.
  • Provision training for internal colleagues and collaborate with Communications and Customer Service teams to ensure schools have up-to-date information.

Requirements

  • Experience of managing a diverse team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and build strong relationships at all levels.
  • The ability to work independently under pressure, responding effectively to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear understanding of digital assessment operational best practice.
  • A degree level qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • A problem-solving mindset, with experience investigating system, process, or service issues.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to identify needs, gather requirements, and translate them into action.
  • Location: Hybrid, requiring 1 day per week in the Cardiff office, United Kingdom.
  • Occasional weekend working is essential, in April, May, October and November.
  • Ability to work flexibly across time zones to meet business needs.
  • Provision of on-call support (outside normal working hours) will be required during examination weeks.
