What you will do

  • Handle original research papers, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review.
  • Make well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts based on expert advice.
  • Determine the representation of your subject in the journal.
  • Liaise extensively with editors at other Nature journals and experts in the international scientific community.
  • Engage with and guide the external editorial board, assisting with recruitment and training.
  • Attend conferences, visit research institutions, and commission/edit Reviews and Editorials.

Requirements

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in a field related to understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the brain.
  • Thorough understanding of recent trends and developments in translational neuroscience, clinical neurology, or neuropsychiatry.
  • Passion for science and a thirst to learn more, demonstrating broad interest beyond your specialty.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and assess the novelty, context, and implications of research submitted to the journal.
  • Be eager to travel and meet scientists worldwide.
