What you will do
- Handle original research papers, including manuscript selection and overseeing peer review.
- Make well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts based on expert advice.
- Determine the representation of your subject in the journal.
- Liaise extensively with editors at other Nature journals and experts in the international scientific community.
- Engage with and guide the external editorial board, assisting with recruitment and training.
- Attend conferences, visit research institutions, and commission/edit Reviews and Editorials.
Requirements
- A PhD (or equivalent) in a field related to understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the brain.
- Thorough understanding of recent trends and developments in translational neuroscience, clinical neurology, or neuropsychiatry.
- Passion for science and a thirst to learn more, demonstrating broad interest beyond your specialty.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and assess the novelty, context, and implications of research submitted to the journal.
- Be eager to travel and meet scientists worldwide.
