What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership and direction for R&D activities within the Peripheral Vascular Health unit.
  • Translate physician needs into actionable product requirements and concepts.
  • Identify and mitigate technological risks throughout the design process.
  • Develop and troubleshoot medical devices, applying knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers while fostering cross-functional relationships.
  • Define and implement strategic goals aligned with the business unit mission.

Requirements

  • Degree level 8 in Engineering or related discipline with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
  • Extensive experience in medical device product development and technical innovation.
  • Deep understanding of materials, sterilization processes, and design control.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferred) and application of ISO standards for medical devices.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to drive large-scale technical initiatives.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Galway, Ireland, as per the hybrid work policy.
