Work Days: Monday to Friday

Salary: Starting at $5 - 7 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Healthcare Billing Specialist with strong experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management, particularly within home health agencies. This role requires someone who can manage billing workflows end-to-end while supporting administrative and patient-facing tasks.

Experience with ALORA software, home health billing processes, and reviewing Notices of Admission (NOAs) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Revenue Cycle Management (Top Priority)

  • Manage full-cycle medical billing, including claim submissions, follow-ups, denials, and appeals
  • Review and process NOAs (Notices of Admission) for accuracy and compliance
  • Perform home health agency billing, ensuring adherence to payer guidelines
  • Utilize ALORA software for billing, documentation, and tracking
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Ensure claims are accurate, complete, and compliant before submission
  • Meet daily KPI of 45 claim follow-ups per day
  • Upload, track, and organize Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

Administrative & Executive Support

  • Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and documentation
  • Assist with administrative overflow and operational tasks
  • Provide executive support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Patient & Reception Support

  • Answer and manage calls using Nextiva VoIP system
  • Respond to patient inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Provide receptionist-level support when needed

Tools & Platforms

Experience with the following is preferred:

  • Billing/EHR Systems: ALORA (highly preferred), eClinicalWorks (ECW), AdvancedMD, DrChrono, WebPT, Fair Bill, Elation, TheraBill
  • Communication Tools: Nextiva VoIP

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management
  • Hands-on experience with home health billing and NOA review
  • Familiarity with ALORA software is a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Clear English communication (written and spoken)
  • Relevant experience in healthcare billing/administration
  • Willingness to provide NBI or Police Clearance if requested
  • Fully available during working hours (no other clients)
  • Comfortable attending video meetings with camera on
